Song Lyrics Abstract:

The story continues as the girl discovers the answer to her lament. She asks a rhetorical question that she answers in confidence. What can wash away her sin? The only hope for her soul lies in a selfless divine act of love... the shedding of blood for her sins. She finds her washing rain in the precious blood of Jesus.

Liner Notes:

The Lyrics in this song were from an old classic Hymn written by Robert Lowry in 1876. When I played this beat for my friend Rachel Larkins... she started humming the lyrics to the hymn, "Nothing But the Blood".

She wrote the poetry at the end of Lament and on the pressing it seamlessly tied into this song. Mikael (15 years old at the time) sang the lead and 3 part harmonies on this version based on Rachel's idea for the beat. The rain was real rain that was captured outside my window. The guitar hook was recorded by our friend Daniel Medina Jr. We were all in out teens/early20's at the time. We were all discovering our faith together. This song was the outcome of that time and the central theme of the EP.

This song lines up with the 3rd Spiritual Law that no Good Works, Philosophy or Religious Lifestyle can connect an unholy person with a Holy God.
